    Hi - we're the husband & wife team of Brian and Johannah. Our small but growing business, The Lifestyle Gallery, offers contemporary family portraits on location throughout the UK. From either of our bases in Southport or central London, we work with clients in the South East, the Midlands and Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria.

    Whether it's portraits of children, teenagers or the whole family, our photography is modern, fresh and distinctive. 'Lifestyle photography' is all about being natural and relaxed - being 'real'. No forced poses, no saying 'cheese' and no big groups of people looking bored. We provide a fun experience that brings the best out in everyone. All our photographs are shot on location - perhaps a local beauty spot, running along the beach or even a funky urban environment.

This is a selection of pictures from an Easter weekend photoshoot with Sally and Amelia (not forgetting Toby, Katie and a special guest appearance from Woody the dog). Children’s lifestyle portraits on location

We take terrific photographs of children – from babies to teenagers. Our lifestyle shoots are incredibly relaxed and because we shoot with natural light, there’s no masses of equipment or big bright flashes to intimidate the little ones. Our philosophy works every time: if they’re having fun, they’ll look great in the pictures.

From the beach to the barn, the garden to the garage, the cottage to the cornfield, we’ll find a great location that ensures the children will enjoy themselves and consequently look their best.

From our bases in Southport and London, we work across the whole of the North West and South East regions – and all points in between.

Contemporary toddler’s portraits – examples from a recent shoot . . .

You’ve probably noticed that all our work is shot on location – we hate the constraints of a stuffy studio with boring backgrounds and blinding flash – and we prefer to shoot using only natural light in a location that has some meaning for the client. These shots were taking in the local park and in the client’s home. This little boy (just six months old) made a great model and I think these examples show how much more natural children’s portraits can look without the use of harsh flash.
